Now I Actually Give Away

I’ve been doing a bit of work to get Virtuoso in hands, and seen by as many people as possible. My wonderful local bookstore took two copies to stock on the shelf, and soon I’ll post a pic of Virtuoso in situ! I can’t recommend Wanderlust Book Lounge enough; they’re friendly, cozy and mini-Drazoen friendly :-D

I submitted a couple of copies to the Sno-Isle Library local authors program, and in a few weeks Virtuoso might be check-outable. When I was a kid we used the library weekly. I was such a voracious reader they made an exception to the rule of how many books a kid could check out at one time, because I went through 10-15 a week. The idea that my book could be something someone comes across on a shelf and decides to go on an adventure with Katy and Bay? Or even put on a hold to check out and read?!! Amazing.

There are more plans to get physical books into more bookstores, but the big item at the moment is the StoryGraph giveaway finishing! I am still absolutely amazed how many people entered, and added me to their TBR. I can’t wait to get print copies or audiobooks into peoples’ hands. There’s a little bit of apprehension - what if they hate it?! I know that’s imposter syndrome talking, though; Virtuoso won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but I can’t control that. I’ve put out my story and there’s an audience out there waiting for it.

Speaking of which, time to get back to Descant. The words came back after a wibble-wobble-week, and I’m up to my neck in a new planet’s opportunities and challenges,
