Jules, what are these books about in a nutshell?

Fair question, reader. I don’t want to spoil much, but a little hint can’t hurt.

At the heart of the series: the continued existence of the Universe is in jeopardy if the Nine Drazoen can’t be returned to our reality. Each Drazoen has a herald, one being able to “wake” their dragon. With 16 advanced species in the Aoni/Universe, there are plenty of candidates. Lots of worlds and cultures to explore, and friends/enemies to be made along the way.

Jules, why’d you pick Nine Drazoen?

I’m a big fan of the number nine, it just seemed right. I might sincerely regret that while I’m writing book 4, but what’s done is done. We’re all going to have to live with my early plotting choices, I’m afraid.

Jules, will there be short stories or novellas?

Reader, you are astute! Yes, I have at least three planned and there could be more if some other side characters demand their time in the spotlight.

Jules, why’d you pick such hard names for characters?

I hear you, reader. But one of my cornerstones in life (and writing) is exploration of the incredible world around us. Another key is inclusion and appreciation of diversity. Life is boring without that which makes us unique!

With very few exceptions, those names you read I pieced together from Olympic athlete rosters, news articles from nations all over the planet, white pages from yet more countries, etc. I wanted to pay homage to the cultural diaspora of our planet while I crafted a big old Aoni/Universe.
