What were you thinking when you created these dragons in space?

I get asked this question almost as much as one I’ll tackle another day (How much of you is in Katy/Bay/Yuhwa/etc?)

To put it plainly, I had a LOT of thoughts. All my life I’ve read, watched movies and TV, connected deeply with all kinds of music. And I always wanted to go to space and meet aliens, save the world/the Universe/the everything, the usual fantasies. :)

Over time the ideas turned into what I’m writing with the Drazoen Heralds. A way for me to try and wrap my brain around all of the things I find so fascinating. It’s complicated, and I work hard to make it snack-sized in the books. There are a lot of characters, made up words and places because it’s a very large Aoni out there. They’re all important to saving the day, and have different ways of doing it. When it all comes together, though, I believe it will be a cohesive whole picture filled with possibility for the future.
