Another giveaway, even better than before

In the run-up to releasing Descant, I thought it might be good to do another round of Virtuoso giveaways. Along with the free EOY sale on Smashwords, I was hoping to get book 1 into peoples hands.

The response was excellent! More views and engagement than in August, in both number of entries and growth of “added to people’s To Read” lists. I wouldn’t let myself get obsessed and check constantly, but every 10 days or so I let myself take a little peek. Definitely made me feel good.

But the emails from winners have been truly heartwarming and make all the effort and nerves worth every moment. To hear that someone who doesn’t even typically go for my kind of book was drawn in means everything. As do the thanks, well-wishes, and eager “can’t wait to read it!” messages.

Now if I can just convert this into big momentum on book three, because I think I might just be building an audience for the Drazoen Heralds and they’re going to want to know what happens with Thuliso and Yemoja!
